Intermission
It’s a new website to promote…well, not very much I’m afraid, as we are in “hiatus” mode. Staying positive and productive is my full-time job right now. Spending time running, reading, cooking and fishing among other things. Can’t wait to get back to the job!
Three to See!
The season is almost over and there's so much to see. Check out three of my own: BANDSTAND at The Jacobs, DEAR EVAN HANSEN at The Music Box, and HAMILTON at The Richard Rodgers. All conveniently located within a two block radius! Make a weekend of it!
Spring Sprint
It's wintery out there right now, but the spring season is beginning in earnest. WAKEY WAKEY at Signature Theatre Center is a compelling new play by Will Eno. Then, I get to make another HAMILTON in San Francisco before traveling back home with Andy Blankenbuhler to open BANDSTAND this April on Broadway. Keep an eye out for all of these exciting projects! It’s FALL Happening…
An embarrassment of riches! HAMILTON open in Chicago to raves and thrilled audiences. Previews for DEAR EVAN HANSEN right around the corner. Some really good stuff out there right now!
A Memorable Season
...comes to a close. So proud to be associated with such excellent work, including BRIGHT STAR and DEAR EVAN HANSEN. And of course, it was the season of HAMILTON on Broadway, ending with 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Time for a break. And then back at it for 2016-2017!
Spring
It's definitely springing around here, and the season has been incredibly rewarding already! SMART PEOPLE at 2econd Stage, THE SOMEWHERE PROJECT (WEST SIDE STORY) with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute at the amazing Knockdown Center, BRIGHT STAR's triumphant Broadway opening, and DEAR EVAN HANSEN, an exciting new musical in previews. Can't wait to start DAPHNE'S DIVE at Signature Theatre Company next week! See some shows!!! (Photo by Fadi Kheir.)
New in 2016
Happy New Year indeed! Lots going on for the new season. Be sure to mark your calendars for:
SMART PEOPLE, a funny, thought-provoking new play and my debut at 2nd Stage;
BRIGHT STAR, a disarming new musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell coming to Broadway;
DEAR EVAN HANSEN, a thoughtful new musical by Pasek and Paul and back at 2nd Stage.
Hamilton
It's not really news to anyone that this show is very special, and our Broadway opening was a blast and made a big splash. The production is at full-throttle every night at The Richard Rodgers Theatre, and I couldn't be prouder. Go to www.hamiltonbroadway.com for tickets, media, and all sorts of great info about the show and the people who made it.
Podcast Appearance!
Cory Pattak invited me to be a guest on in 1: the podcast and we talked for a long time. It was a great conversation, and Cory is an excellent interviewer. Enjoy!
A Wedding!
Well, a Broadway wedding anyway. Who's better than David Hyde Pierce? Nobody. And a great team of designers, an expert cast, and of course my wonderful audio team. Nice way to get the spring going.
“To the Revolution!”
The spring season has started early in New York with Lin-Manuel Miranda's latest, HAMILTON, at The Public Theater. An amazing piece with a great creative team. We begin performances this week, and we are off and running!
Home for the Holidays
A long stretch of production ends with a return to New York City for the holidays and into the new year. BRIGHT STAR, DEE SNIDER'S ROCK 'N' ROLL XMAS TALE, the CINDERELLA National Tour, and THE TEMPEST at DC's Shakespeare Theatre Center made for a very busy and very exciting fall. Happy to be home and gearing up for 2015. Best wishes to everyone.
Autumn’s in the Air
Summer is coming to a close, and things are ramping up! Doing business with Carnegie in preparation for their 2014-15 season, preparing to head out to San Diego for the exciting new musical Bright Star, getting ahead of the holiday season, and work on Dee Snider's Rock and Roll Christmas Tale.
